Description: Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request data regarding the council's current management, logistics, and expenditure related to municipal green waste and parks groundskeeping waste. To assist with your search and ensure the request is proportionate, please provide the following information for the most recently completed financial year (e.g., 2025/2026): 1. Tonnage & Volume What was the total tonnage of municipal green waste (including grass clippings, park maintenance waste, and verge cuttings) collected by or on behalf of the council? 2. Financial Expenditure What was the total annual cost, or the average gate fee paid per ton, for the disposal and processing of this municipal green waste? 3. Processing Logistics Who are the primary external contractors or facilities currently responsible for processing this green waste? What is the primary processing method currently utilised for this waste (e.g., windrow composting, anaerobic digestion, biomass incineration, or landfill)? What is the estimated or average distance (in miles) that this green waste is transported from the council’s primary depots to the final processing facilities? 4. End-Product Utilisation Does the council currently purchase back any of the resulting by-products (such as compost or fertiliser) from these contractors for use within municipal parks?
