Freedom of information (FOI) disclosure log
Date Sent: July 28, 2026
Conclusion: Released In Full
Description: I am writing to formally request information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding a meeting reportedly held at Wakefield Town Hall on 30 June 2026. Specifically, I seek confirmation that this meeting took place, as well as details relating to the attendees and the purpose of the meeting, which I understand concerned the discussion of social media posts made by Sarah Lee Cobham, a Wakefield citizen, about the Reform-run Wakefield Metropolitan District Council. I would appreciate clarification as to whether this meeting was an official council or cabinet meeting, or alternatively a political meeting. If it was an official council or cabinet meeting, I kindly request a copy of the notes or minutes taken during the meeting. Should it instead have been a political meeting, please confirm that the room used was a publicly available room within Wakefield Town Hall, open to booking and use by all members of the public at the standard rate for public hire. In that case, I request details regarding the room booking: the name of the person who booked the room, the timing and duration of the meeting, the specific room used, and the applicable hire rate. Given the reported involvement of West Yorkshire Police, I respectfully ask that you provide your response as soon as possible, even though I understand you are obliged to reply within the statutory timeframe. Any additional information relating to the police’s attendance or role at this meeting would also be welcome.
