Description: Please find attached a Freedom of Information request from Dementia Carers Count. Dementia Carers Count is a national charity supporting unpaid carers of people living with dementia through advice, advocacy, emotional wellbeing support, counselling and group support services. As part of our strategic planning and service development work, we are seeking to better understand current local authority provision, pressures, commissioning arrangements and future priorities relating to unpaid carers supporting people living with dementia. To assist with responding, we have attached a response template (excel document). We would be grateful if you could complete the template where possible and return it by email. The request includes questions relating to: • Identification and recognition of dementia carers • Commissioned support services and future recommissioning activity • Waiting times and demand • Emotional wellbeing and counselling provision • Unmet need and service gaps • Carer breakdown and preventative support • Strategic priorities and future demand • Sufficiency of local support provision If any part of the request exceeds the appropriate cost limit, we would be grateful if you could advise which elements may be refined or narrowed to enable a response.
