Renewing library items

There are three ways to renew your library items:

In person

You can renew items in person at any branch. You will need to show staff your library membership card if you do not have the items with you.

By telephone

You can renew items by telephone at any library. You will need to tell the member of staff your borrower number (found on the back of your library membership card).

By using Wakefield Libraries Online Catalogue

You can renew items online using our online catalogue service. You will need to have your library borrower number and PIN to renew items online. If you do not have a Library PIN then call into any library across the district, where staff will issue you your number - you will need to show staff your library membership card.

Unseen renewals

You are only permitted one 'unseen' renewal. An 'unseen' renewal is when you renew your items without a member of staff seeing the items. Unseen renewals can be done by telephone, email, and online, or by renewing items at a self-service machine at a branch. If you have already renewed your item once then you will need to produce the loaned items at a library for a member of staff to renew them.

Please note: If an item has been reserved by another borrower then you cannot renew the item.
