Workplace planned interventions

Wakefield Council follows The National Local Authority Enforcement Code. This is to carry out health and safety interventions. These interventions target priority issues based on risk assessments using national and local data. This includes accident reports, complaints, and information from other regulators.

Our health and safety efforts are focused on higher risk areas and addressing serious violations of regulations. We concentrate on businesses that need improvement rather than those already doing well. Planned inspections primarily target high-risk activities/sectors. These are specified by the HSE, on their website here, or areas where risks are not effectively managed based on available information.

Planned interventions may involve:

  • Providing advice
  • Conducting training sessions and seminars
  • Collaborating with trade associations
  • Recognising and sharing good practices
  • Conducting workplace inspections
