Castleford to get an international upgrade this June

Following the recently completed regeneration work that saw Castleford indoor market transformed, shoppers have been enthusiastically supporting traders and coming in greater numbers to ‘buy local’.

But it’s not just the public and the permanent traders who have been impressed by the recent market transformation, so too have event organisers, who see Castleford as a great place to host and celebrate themed pop-up markets. 

12-15 June (Father’s Day weekend) will see the start of a 4-day Continental Food Market coming to Carlton Street. 

Residents and visitors to Castleford will be able to browse approximately 30 delicious food stalls, offering everything from chimney cakes to Indian street food. 

If you work in the town centre and are looking for some fabulous lunchtime inspiration, why not pop along and tantalise your taste buds. 

Wakefield Council is delighted that following an extensive repair and regeneration program, organisers are already keen to bring exciting new events to Castleford town centre - it is expected that more events, including similar food festivals, will be announced in the coming months. 

The Continental Food Market will be organised and arranged by R R Events, operating under usual licensing rules and regulations.
