As you are aware, the situation regarding Coronavirus and information being received from the Public Health Department is changing daily.
We are sure you will understand that Wakefield Council has a duty of care to our employees, and we also need to be proactive in terms of minimizing the risk of the virus spreading.
In order to adhere to guidance from the Public Health Department our service is now operating on reduced staffing which inevitably has an impact on our service provision.
We will, of course, continue to provide our statutory services wherever possible but unfortunately it does mean that some of our services need to be restricted or curtailed until further notice.
Primary and secondary school allocations for September 2020 are being prioritised in order that all pupils have notification of their allocated place for September, but transfer requests, for both schools and nurseries, will be deferred until further notice.
Access via telephone will also be restricted by necessity due to staffing issues so the best way to contact us during this period is via email at email@example.com
We are working closely with the Council’s Governance team to identify appropriate action in relation to appeals and we will update this message as soon as this is finalised.
We appreciate this may cause frustration, but this is an unprecedented situation and as mentioned, we have a duty of care to our employees, and to be proactive in terms of minimising the risk of the virus spreading.
Thank you in advance of your patience and understanding; please bear with us during these difficult times.
