What is Happy Healthy Holidays?
Happy Healthy Holidays aims to keep children and young people active during the School Holidays by providing free enriching activities and healthy food to those eligible for income based free school meals.
Who is the programme funded by?
Over the course of 2021, the DfE is grant funding Wakefield Council to coordinate free holiday provision - including healthy food and enriching activities. This will cover four weeks in the summer and a week's worth of provision in each of the Easter and Christmas holidays in 2021- to help children enjoy a happy, healthy school holiday.

Who is it for?
The Happy Healthy Holidays programme is for children aged 5-16 who receive benefits-related free school meals.
What activities are on offer?
The summer and Christmas holidays will be filled with exciting activities provided by schools, local authority teams and the voluntary community sector alongside a healthy food offer. Further details will be updated as they are confirmed.
