Coronavirus (COVID-19): health, care and volunteer workers parking pass and concessions

Following the publication of the Government's roadmap for lifting COVID-19 restrictions, new guidance to Councils has been issued concerning Government issued free parking passes to health, care and volunteer workers.

These emergency parking passes are to be withdrawn by 21 June 2021 and should not be used to park after this date.

More information concerning these parking passes can be found at www.gov.uk

In order to continue to support the economic recovery from the Coronavirus Pandemic the Council introduced a free 2 hour parking tariff on the majority of its off-street car parks from 1 April 2021. The charges and conditions of parking can be found displayed at each car park.

2 hours free parking is available in all Council car parks except Merchant Gate Brunswick St, Turton St and Waterfront until 31 March 2022.

We are doing this to help residents and businesses and support the district's recovery from Covid-19.

Please note you must still get a ticket and that all other restrictions apply including maximum length of stay time limits – despite being free of charge. If you are parking in a Council car park or on street parking area please double check the restrictions before you leave your car.
