Chevet Lane Road Safety Works
As part of our Road Safety Improvement programme, Wakefield Council are planning to undertake a road safety improvement scheme along Chevet Lane.
The scheme involves works on Chevet Lane between the Haw Park Lane and Woodthorpe Lane junctions. The scheme includes the following works:
Installation of new High Friction Surfacing on all approaches to the Chevet Gates crossroads junction
Installation of new High Friction Surfacing on all bends between the Haw Park Lane and Woodthorpe Lane junctions
Installation of new reflective marker posts in the highway verge adjacent to the bends where previous accidents have occurred
Replacement of defective road studs (cateyes) between the Common Lane and Woodthorpe Lane junctions
Installation of new & replacement road signs
Due to the nature of the work to be undertaken and the width of the carriageway, road closures will be in place during working hours to maintain the safety of both road users and our operational teams.
In order to minimise the impact of the scheme on traffic flows, the works will be carried out in three phases:
Closure Phase 1
