A good induction ensures new starters are retained, and then settled in quickly and happily to a productive role.
Line Managers play a key role in providing the first 12 weeks as a clear pathway for the new starter to gain a full understanding the job they have been appointed to with clear objectives, timescales and expectations outlined.
The induction will also provide a basis upon which to start monthly supervision (one-to-one) and appraisals, be used to identify any immediate learning needs / gaps that need to be addressed.
CYP colleagues are provided with an induction checklist to work through within their first 12 weeks of employment. The new starter will also be invited to the CYP Induction Session where they will learn more about the CYP services with a key opportunity for networking.
