Welcome to Wakefield Adult Education

Update – 23rd February 2021

Following the Prime Minister's Statement on 22nd February 2021, we have been advised that Adult learners may return to our Centres for face to face learning. We will be having a 'phased' return to learning in our centres from Monday 8th March. We will be in touch individually to inform you of the return date for your chosen course.

Were you booked on a Maths, English or ESOL Enrolment Workshop? Our team will be contacting you over the next week to assign you a new date commencing 8th March 2021. Please remember to bring photo ID and Proof of Benefit or Low Waged Proof if you require Fee Remission.

Please browse our new provision which was delivered to your door recently or just contact us for advice. We are available to support you in finding the right course to help you to enhance your existing skills or for you to learn new ones.

If you are or have been a furloughed worker or been made unemployed, please browse our new provision or contact us for advice.   We all know that learning a new skill or hobby helps with your well-being. So we have identified some short courses to help you unwind and relax at home, why not try our Art or Mindfulness courses.   Whatever your interest, give us a call and let us support you in finding the right course to enhance your existing skills or for you to learn new ones.   The team have recently surveyed our learners and 93% said they were likely or very likely to recommend us to friends and family.

Learners have told us:

  • "It is very good for every aspect of learning, good tutors, making new friends and very friendly and helpful staff"
  • "Commitment of the service to provide meaning all through these challenging times"
