Welcome to Wakefield Adult Education

Updated:  8 September 2020

Our 2020/21 course brochure is now available and has been delivered to the Wakefield District.

We are experiencing high volumes of calls and enquiries at the moment due to the high demand of our courses, so please be patient when trying to contact us.   Our centres are now officially open to the public. We have been working hard to create new ways to deliver learning as well as creating safe learning environments for you.

If you are or have been a furloughed worker or been made unemployed, please browse our new provision or contact us for advice. We are available to support you in finding the right course to help you to enhance your existing skills or for you to learn new ones.  Our staff are available to take your calls and answer your enquires to enable you to receive the information you need to enrol or you can call in to the Manygates Centre Reception where we will be happy to help.

The team have recently surveyed our learners and almost 93% said they were likely or very likely to recommend us to friends and family.

Learners have told us:

  • "It is very good for every aspect of learning, good tutors, making new friends and very friendly and helpful staff"
  • "Commitment of the service to provide meaning all through these challenging times"

Check out our online directory to see if there are any courses of interest to you. The new brochure will be delivered to your homes in early September but our courses do fill up very quickly, so beat the rush – download the 2020 Course Guide.
