Learning for life and work

Welcome to Wakefield Adult Education Service

Good News – we would like to announce the arrival of our new brochure for the start of the new academic year in September 2021.

Our provision offers a range of courses from complete beginners to more advanced level courses and a choice of different ways to learn.  In the classroom, online or via distance learning or a mixture of both in our blended learning offer.  We really do have something for everyone, whether you want to learn new skills for work or well-being, improve your career prospects or just need to relax and make new friends, we can help you.

Have a look through our brochure on our Course Directory and please get in touch with our dedicated team if you have any questions.  We are here to support your enrolment, offer you advice and guidance on any queries and will support you in finding the right course to hel you enhance your existing skills, learn new ones or support your current wellbeing.

Please also ask for details about Fee Remission if you are unemployed or employed on a low wage (Under £25,700 gross per annum).   Please ask about financial support around travel, resources or childcare expenses because we may be able to help you.

If you need guidance about the next steps to take in your career, we can offer you support with advice from our Careers Team.  Please contact them at
