Report a stray dog

If you find a stray dog, you can contact us and our dog wardens will collect the dog (if it is from a known location) and where possible, the dog will be returned to its owner.

Please note: if you think the stray dog is a potential risk or danger, please fill out a Dangerous Dog form.

Our dog wardens work Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays)
Details of the stray dog will be passed to the dog wardens, who will attend as soon as possible.

Outside these hours (including weekends) you can:

Take the dog to the kennels

You can take a stray dog to Mount Pleasant Kennels, Hampole, Doncaster, DN6 7EX 07835 535879.  Please call to arrange to take the dog. You can only take dogs to Mount Pleasant Kennels Mon-Fri 5pm-9pm. Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 8am to 9pm.

Have the dog collected

If the dog is found over the weekend, you can keep the dog until a dog warden can collect it on the Monday (or Tuesday if it's a Bank Holiday).

What you need to tell us:

  • Your contact details (name, address, telephone, email)
  • Description of the dog (such as it's breed, size, colour, age etc.)
  • The exact location location of the dog (when you last saw it)
  • The dog's current location and, if the dog is on your property, what you would like to happen next regarding the dog

Report a stray dog

If you wish to report a stray dog, please fill in our online form, after which we will receive an application number. If you provide us with an email address an automated acknowledgment of your request will be sent to you.
