Funeral at a cemetery

Your funeral director will fill in an internment notice with you when you book the burial and this will have the details of the grave in advance so that the grave can be prepared.

Currently up to 20 people can attend at graveside.

Only family from the same household or close relatives should attend.

If there is no family members close friends can attend.

Graveside committals should last no longer than 30 mins.

Social distancing should be practiced unless with members of your own household.

Regrettably family members will not be permitted to lower the coffin into the grave. Should you wish to backfill the grave we request that you bring your own equipment.

On the day you will be met by a representative of the Council before the service is conducted by your chosen minister or funeral director.
