We are suspending bulky waste collections for two weeks from Tuesday 3 August in order to prioritise household waste and recycling collections.
As reflected up and down the country, we are currently faced with staff shortages due to self-isolation rules and high infection rates across the district. We need to prioritise waste and recycling collections so that these can continue as normal.
Residents who have large household items to dispose of can do so at one of the district's Household Waste Recycling centres, find out more at https://renewiwakefield.co.uk/household-waste-recycling-centres/
Donating unwanted items can also help the local community, especially those in need, or raise money for charity. Find out how to 'pass it on' at https://www.wakefield.gov.uk/bins-and-environment/bins-and-recycling/recycling/pass-it-on
We will be contacting those that have a bulky waste collection booked to advise them of the temporary changes and to rearrange or receive a full refund.
We expect our bulky waste collection service to resume on Tuesday 17 August.
Please refer to your 2020 bin calendar for your collection dates.
Garden waste collections are on the same day as general waste collections (green coloured bin).
