In Wakefield we understand that each person is different and that a ‘one size fits all’ approach to housing doesn’t suit everyone. These pages have been created to guide you through the choices that are available, so you are able to find a home that is suited to your individual needs.
The Housing Options Service in the Wakefield district has been developed and improved in partnership with local agencies. This includes the introduction of two new property shops located in Wakefield, making help and advice more accessible than ever. Staff are able to provide tailored advice and internet facilities provide a self-service option to customers:

If you are interested in finding out more you can visit the property shops at during opening hours. These are:
- Monday - Wednesday: 9am - 4.30pm
- Thursday: 9am - 7pm
- Friday: 9am - 4.30pm
- Saturday: 9am - 12noon
We also have Housing Options Advisors who are part of the Housing Needs Service based at Queens House who specialize in working with individuals who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
Housing Options Advisors have a wide knowledge of the accommodation and housing options in the district. They work closely with other organizations to develop successful partnerships and encourage the involvement of local landlords in providing housing solutions to customers.
Advisors may be able to work with you on a one-to-one basis, assessing your needs and advising you on how to successfully obtain accommodation.
