Children will be able to collect a Scavenger Trail activity sheet from any of the four sites, or download it on the Council website Once they have collected all 16 stamps, it will reveal a message. Those that take part can then email the secret message to, along with their contact details, to be included in a free prize draw.

Cllr Les Shaw, the Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: "We're delighted to be launching the new Scavenger Trail. The original Adventure Trail at Anglers Country Park has been hugely popular with thousands of families across the district, and welcomed many more visitors from further afield into our parks and countryside.

"We hope that the launch of the Scavenger Trail with give families even more new activities to enjoy and branch out the fun in our other parks."

The Room on the Broom 15th Anniversary Party will take place at Anglers Country Park – the home of Wakefield Council's original Room on the Broom Adventure Trail - on Saturday 3 September, from 11am to 4pm.

Cllr Shaw added: "Come along to our special Anniversary Party to celebrate 15 wonderful years of the Room of the Broom trail. The event is free and anyone can attend to enjoy the outdoor film screenings of the film adaptation of the book, alongside many other fun games and activities.
