Council invites residents to Love Where You Live Event
Wakefield Council is holding a 'Love Where You Live' event in Havercroft and Ryhill.
The Council is hosting the family fun day on Wednesday August 6 from 11am to 3pm at Havercroft & Ryhill Community Learning Centre, Mulberry Avenue.
Local ward Councillors have been working with local schools and the Parish Council to organise the event which includes free rides, competitions, prizes and sports activities for children, advice and guidance from partner agencies will also be available.
Cllr Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Communities, said: "The aim of the fun day is to bring the two villages together and celebrate what a great place to live both areas are. It's about inspiring local people to think about where we live and finding ways to transform and maintain it.
"We held a similar event last year which was extremely successful as local councillors we were able to engage with residents. If we work together we can make a real difference to where we live."
