Wakefield Council is hosting an arts and culture festival for young people.

The Overload2K14 festival will be held in the grounds of Nostell Priory and takes place on Saturday June 21 from 3pm till 10pm. It will include a range of art activities from live music and dance, to arts and crafts.

The current line-up of performers include the Castleford based Jack Walton and his band, Third Knight, Chemical Child, Fear of the Faith and Slik Wizard Events' UV Dance tent with more acts signing up. Entry to the event is free of charge, though some on site activities may carry a small charge and there is a £3 charge per car for parking.

The project is supported by Wakefield Council's Youth Development and Support Service (YDSS) who have provided funds through their positive activities grants for local arts organisations – Faceless Arts. This is set up to mentor young people to produce the festival as a pilot this year. The festival will also be sponsored by residential property developer Taylor Wimpey.

The new Wakefield Youth website will also be launched during the event and can be accessed on
