Wakefield Council flies flag and lights up Clock Tower to support all key workers
Wakefield Council is lighting up the Clock Tower at Wakefield Town Hall and flying a special flag, to show its support for all key workers across the district.
The Council is proudly flying the flag on Wakefield Town Hall in support of dedicated workers supporting the district during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tomorrow evening will also see the start of the Wakefield Clock Tower being lit up each Tuesday in green, a colour often recognised in support of health and social care workers.
The Clock Tower will continue to be lit up in blue each Thursday in support of the NHS and all key workers.
Cllr Michael Graham, Cabinet Member for Resources at Wakefield Council, said: “During these very difficult and challenging times we are very grateful to all our dedicated NHS colleagues, care workers and all key workers who are all playing vital roles in helping to care and protect people and keep vital services open during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are proud to fly the flag and light up the Clock Tower to show how much we truly appreciate the work of these amazing people who are supporting individuals, families and communities across our district, during these unprecedented times.”
