Activities day at The Hut
A free community day packed with activities is taking place at The Hut Airedale on 30 October from 11am – 3pm.
Organised by Wakefield Council and the Coalfield Regeneration Trust, the fun day is for adults, children and young people.
Activities for young children, who must be accompanied by an adult, will include a soft play area and a bouncy castle.
For older children the day will include ten pin bowling, martial arts, and craft sessions including biscuit decoration.
Over 18s can try our walking football, relax by joining in colouring sessions just for adults, and take the opportunity to share their memories of Fryston Woods with the Friends' group.
There will also be a chance for adults and children to learn about cycle maintenance, with the chance to win prizes and nominate someone in the community to win a bike, and get involved in 5 Towns Radio.
A café will be open, with lunch provided free of charge to the first 40 children to arrive on the day.
Cllr Les Shaw, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services at Wakefield Council, said: "We're looking forward to seeing children, young people and families coming to our community activity day. There'll be lots to do and everyone is guaranteed a warm welcome. So come along and enjoy this half-term event."
No advanced booking is needed for the day.
The activities are being delivered in partnership with WFYouth, ENGIE, Airedale F.C, Game On, 5 Towns Radio, Spectrum, Cycle Technology, Lifestyle Martial Arts, DWP, Colour Me Calm, Yorkshire Sport Foundation and Friends of Fryston Woods.
