Now it's more important than ever to keep yourself and your family active, so we have launched 7 in 7 to encourage your child's development at home and provide you with some fun and engaging activities to enjoy.
Children learn best through play and offering those experiences whereby they can grow and develop. These activities encourage personal, social and emotional development; communication and language; and physical development following the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
By taking part in the activities, they will develop some fine motor skills such as holding a paint brush as well as gross motor skills such as jumping and hoping.
However, these activities aren't just for young children. Participating in these activities will strengthen the connection between adult and child through effective communication; joint attention, taking turns, talking things through and asking questions.
The 7 in7 challenge
Each week you will be given 7 activities to complete in 7 days. It's up to you how you interpret each activity, it's also up to you whether you do one per day or all in 1 or 2 days!!
Every time you complete an activity you will colour in part of the weekly picture with its specific colour.
We then want you to display that picture in your window, alongside your rainbows – so that people know you are taking part in the challenge.
Be sure to like and follow our
https://www.facebook.com/wakefieldwellbeing/ Facebook page to stay up to date on each activity, they will also feature on this page.
We would also love for you to share your experiences on your Facebook page by using the #7in7 and tag @wakefieldwellbeing
