Pontefract Park North is a Local Nature Reserve, offering a range of habitats and often forming complex mosaics of vegetation; with grassland, a lake, as well as woodland, wetland and small areas of open water.
Countryside officers carry out site patrols, practical conservation work, also help schools and other groups to explore and understand the natural environment.
Countryside Officers, Countryside Information Officers and local enthusiasts provide the free events throughout the year.
We encourage volunteers and friends groups to have their say too which in-turn makes the park more enjoyable. If you are interested in local volunteering opportunities on this and other sites please contact us.
