- Watersports: Monday – Thursday 12pm – 6pm / Friday – 12pm – 5pm / Saturday and Sunday 10am – 5pm
- Park: Spring and Summer: 9am – up to 9.30pm (variable depending on daylight hours) / Winter: 9am - 4.30pm
Pugneys Country Park is a 250 acre site which was previously an open cast mine as well as a sand and gravel quarry and was turned into a country park in 1985. Now celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the new look Pugneys sees another transformation to bring fun and adventure to the heart of Wakefield.
There's loads to do – hire a bike, have a play with the FREE outdoor play equipment, have a BBQ, an ice cream, visit the cafe, take a ride on the steam train, the choice is yours!

The Watersports Centre has been pulling in those avid water adrenaline fans for many years, courses available for adults and juniors, so why not push the boat out and try pedaloes, zorbs or if you want to learn a skill or two how about canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, windsurfing or dinghy sailing.
