Everyone should have the opportunity to participate in sport and physical activity, whatever their ability.
We are committed to providing a wide variety of high quality disabilty sports, activities and facilities for Wakefield residents and anyone who visits the city.
Over 15 per cent of Wakefield residents are disabled (information from Sport England Local sport profile 2010).
Sport can be used as a tool that can unite communities and improve sport across the region. We aim to enable disabled people to view taking part in sport as a lifestyle choice.
We have produced a directory of all disability sports clubs and facilities. This directory details all of the disability sport and physical activity opportunities that exist across Wakefield, delivered by us and all our key partners. This covers children, young people and adults with all ability levels.
The directory also includes information on all leisure facilities and venues across Wakefield, the health initiatives provided by Wakefield Council and a list of other useful websites.
