Wakefield Council is happy to announce the launch of our third round of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) project for the Wakefield district.  This was a new grant scheme for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE) originally launched in the summer of last year.

UK Shared Prosperity Fund

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills. For more information, visit www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-prospectus. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Overview of the fund

Support will be available for VCSE organisations to deliver volunteering and social action projects for the community. This will increase the number of volunteer opportunities created and supported as well as the number of events/activities that will be provided in the Wakefield district, over the grant period.
