Housing for Vulnerable Adults

The Housing Needs Service (formerly known as the Vulnerable Adults Service or Open Door Project) is a Council service for people who are homeless, threatened with homelessness or in housing need.

We aim to provide:

  • advice, assistance and support to prevent homelessness
  • temporary/emergency accommodation to those who we have a statutory duty to house
  • a safe temporary living environment with access to resettlement support
  • support to people to enable them to live independently in their own, permanent accommodation

To help you in your search for a home please download the housing factsheets covering:

Wakefield Housing Related Support Pathways

If you require supported accommodation or support to help you keep your existing accommodation you may be referred into a Housing Related Support Pathway.

For further information on the pathways and the providers please download the Pathway and Eligibility Information.

Should you wish to be considered for a referral into one or more of the pathways please contact one of the chosen pathway provider or the Single Point of Access at the Housing Needs Service.
