Wakefield Town Hall is a prestigious Grade I listed building with a collection of rooms available for use.

Exquisitely designed with many ornate features these truly splendid rooms give a sense of occasion that simply cannot be matched anywhere else.

Lo​​fthouse Suite

Before your ceremony your guests will assemble in the Ceremony Waiting Lounge, where they will be surrounded by ornate furniture, including a grand piano, lovingly restored and befitting to the building and the opulence of the ceremony room.

​The Lofthouse Suite has been luxuriously decorated to the highest standard and is furnished with two ornate fireplaces, a grandfather clock, chandeliers and a beautifully restored historic desk and chairs for when you sign the register.

The room will seat up to 60 guests for your ceremony.

Room O​​ne

Before your ceremony your guests will assemble in our waiting room​, Room One,​ which has been beautifully decorated to the highest standard and is furnished with an ornate mahogany fireplace, chandelier and restored historic table and chairs for when you sign the register.

The room will seat up to 35 guests for your ceremony.


Wakefield Reg​​ister Office

Your marriage or civil partnership will take place in a statutory room identified as the Register Office and witnessed by two guests.

Weddings, ceremo​​​nies​ and private functions

Indulge in the Wakefield Town Hall experience by spending the entire day with us. From a ceremony in the Lofthouse Suite to a drinks reception in the Old Court Room, followed by a fully catered wedding breakfast and evening party in the Kingswood Suite. 

Wedding or party catering packages are available including arrival drinks, buffets, entertainment and venue decoration of your choice. Please contact the Events and Functions team for more information.

The venue has a licensed bar which is open late.

​The Town Hall offers a range of state rooms suitable for hosting a variety of events from, large / small conferences, exhibitions, team away days, award ceremonies and corporate dinners.

Our on-site Events team will be on hand to meet and greet delegates and assist with any technical issues.​

The on-site catering team offers an extensive range of buffets and refreshments perfect for any event.​

​​Located right in the heart of Wakefield’s Civic Quarter stands Wakefield Town Hall, a prestigious building of immense character and Victorian elegance. Recently refurbished, the Town Hall is now a quality and sophisticated venue for corporate events and any private function.

The Town Hall is an ideal location having excellent transport links close the M1 and M62 motorways. Wakefield Westgate train station is a 2 minute walk away along with the bus station. 

The Town Hall is surrounded by city centre car parking.​
