We can help you bring the excitement to learning!
All of our sessions can be used to support learning objectives and are for a maximum class size of 35. The programme uses the museums' rich collections along with local landmarks and history to create memorable and interactive learning experiences.
All sessions are flexible and can be adapted to meet your needs. If you don't find the topic you are looking for, just let us know. We always welcome suggestions for new topics and ways to help you.
Sessions include a diverse range of approaches including role-play, enquiry-led learning, digital film-making, archaeological analysis and lots of hands-on activity - there's no dry history here!
Sessions can be delivered at a time and date to suit you. They can be held at your school or at any of these locations:
- Wakefield Museum
- Pontefract Museum
- Castleford Forum Museum
- Pontefract Castle
- Sandal Castle
Sessions are currently charged at:
- £58 for standard workshops delivered at one of our sites
- £112 for ‘special’ sessions (such as those lasting a whole day or requiring 2 members of the museum learning team for delivery)
- £102 for standard workshops delivered in-school (£150 for two, or £175 for three sessions run in one day)
Book 5 sessions in a school year and get a 6th free (if all booked at the same time. The workshops will be invoiced at the time of booking to be paid in advance)
