European Parliamentary Elections 2019

The European Parliamentary Election will take place on Thursday 23 May.

Leeds City Council is the lead for the Yorkshire and the Humber area and will be announcing the regional results here on 26 May.

Postal votes

When your postal vote ballot pack is posted will be determined by when you applied:

​Before 15 April ​8 May
​16 April to 8 May​13 May

Overseas voters

An approximate timescale for postage is 3-5 working days within Europe and 5-7 working days for deliveries outside Europe.

You must return your postal vote so it arrives by 23 May.

Information for EU citizens

If you are an EU citizen from any member state outside the UK, and are currently on the electoral register, you will receive an EC6 form in the next few days.

This form will be sent to your registered address and you will need to complete it, in order to vote in the European Parliamentary Election. Please return the form as soon as possible, as the final deadline is Tuesday 7 May.

Here are the key dates for the European Parliamentary Election

  • Notice of Election - Monday 15 April
  • Poll cards delivery to homes - from Friday 26 April 
  • The deadline for registering to vote - Tuesday 7 May
  • The deadline for postal vote applications - Wednesday 8 May
  • Polling Day - Thursday 23 May
