Civil Funerals and Remembrance Ceremonies

Civil funeral ceremonies

Civil Funeral Ceremonies are available to customers as an alternative to a religious or humanist ceremony. Favourite hymns, poems and readings may be included. A Civil Funeral Ceremony will offer a unique and sensitive ceremony that is focussed on the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family. This personal and made-to-measure service can be provided for cremations or burials.

Remembrance ceremonies

A Remembrance Ceremony is a unique and personal way to celebrate the life of a loved one. The ceremony can be held:

  • After, or instead of, a funeral ceremony; it may be particularly suitable for occasions when a death has occurred overseas.
  • For the placement of a new headstone or plaque
  • To include family or friends who were not able to attend the funeral
  • On the anniversary of a death or, to commemorate a special birthday or occasion
  • Any other relevant occasion

The ceremony can be held at one of 'Our Venues' or any non-religious building subject to certain booking conditions. Although this is essentially a non-religious ceremony we will be able to include a favourite hymn or reading

This service is offered to complement a Civil Funeral where you would like to inter or strew ashes at a later date. A much shorter ceremony will reflect the nature of the occasion.
