Transport is a fundamental issue at the national, regional and local levels and has a direct impact on all aspects of modern life.  Contributions to the delivery of a successful Transport Strategy will come from actions at each of these levels.  The Wakefield District Transport Strategy reflects the national and regional aspirations but also the local issues that are critical to citizens of the district.
 
The Transport Strategy is a step towards development of a well-connected district enabling more people who live in the district of Wakefield to access opportunities, be they employment, education, health or leisure.
