Traffic signals

Report a traffic signal failure or fault...

What you can report

Please tell us about any of the following:

  • Report a traffic signal fault
  • Enquire about ongoing/recent traffic signals work
  • Request for a traffic signal
  • Report traffic congestion at permanent traffic lights
  • More time to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing
  • Green light is too short

What we will do

All reports are recorded on a fault management database and are passed to our maintenance contractor. Urgent faults should be attended to within 3 hours. Non-urgent faults will be dealt with within 24 hours. All reports should be cleared within 36 hours, except where damage requires third party involvement.

Requests about crossings will be investigated and a response sent out. It may not be possible to change the times but an assessment will be carried out.

Pelican crossings - request a crossing or report a fault

Please complete the Traffic Request Form (see 'Downloads') and return it to the address on the top of the page to request a new crossing or report an issue with an existing one.

  • A new pelican crossing
The site will be investigated, the feasibility and need for a crossing will be assessed and you will be responded to directly.
  • The visibility for pedestrians is poor at a pelican crossing
The site will be investigated and you will be responded to directly.
