Traffic Sign Requests

There are thousands of signs throughout the district warning drivers of hazards or restrictions, or giving information such as directions to towns, villages, or places of interest.

This helps to keep the traffic moving safely and efficiently if you have any comments, concerns or would like to request a new traffic sign, let us know using the Traffic Requests Form or if you want to phone us for advice see Contact Us details.

Temporary Directional Signs to Events

Approval is required from the Council for the erection of Temporary Directional Signs to Local Events.

Signs must not be merely used for advertising purposes but should be used to direct traffic to an event; signs must be no greater than 500mm by 600mm in size; and signs shall not be fixed to traffic signal poles. Signs must be removed by the event organiser no more than 2 days after the event has finished. The Authority is to be indemnified against all claims for accident or injury caused by or as a consequence of the existence of the signs.
