Q How do I arrange for the construction service?
A

You must make your own arrangements with an accredited contractor to undertake the work. After your application is approved, you will be sent the necessary specification and a form to return which details the contractor, accreditation number and public liability insurance. The covering letter will give further details.

Q I am disabled. Is financial help available?
A

Under very limited, specific circumstances the Adaptations Assessment Team can assess your significant level of risk transferring in or out of a car. This could be as a result of a permanent and substantial disability which prevents you safely transferring from your wheelchair into the car. Alternatively, that your behaviour is such that there is no insight into personal and road safety whilst tranferring into a car.

Note: Adaptations Assessment Team will  not consider requests that are made as a result of neighbourly disputes, vandalism, or the perceived fear of vandalism to a car or reserving a space where parking is difficult.

Q Do the Council construct vehicle crossings or driveways within a property?
A

No. Contractors can be located in the local newspaper or yellow pages (look under 'Pavings and Driveways'.
