Kerb Crossing , Kerb Lowering and Access Requests

Permission is required from the council if you need to drop the kerb outside your property to make a driveway. Wakefield Council provides a quotation and construction service in order for you to do this.

If the property is rented from the council you will require the permission of the Area Housing Office to take a vehicle into the garden.

Please read the Planning Guidance Notes, under 'Downloads', for advice and guidance on the design and construction of a vehicle access crossing.

The frequently asked questions, below, should answer most of you questions. However, if you have any further questions please contact us.

If you wish to request a vehicle access crossing (kerb lowering for driveways) you can either telephoning us (see Contact Us) or use the online Highways Problems Reporting Form (see 'Related Links').
