Wakefield Free City Bus

Free city busThe Wakefield Free City Bus service was introduced in 2007. The service provides residents and visitors an alternative to using the car around the city centre, with friendly knowledgeable drivers on hand to help if assistance is needed.

It travels on a circular route linking the two train stations, the bus station and the main shopping areas:-

Bus Station > The Springs > Kirkgate Station > Ings Road Retail Park > Westgate Retail Park > Westgate Station > Westgate > Bus Station

Buses run every 10 minutes from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 5pm on Saturdays.

All journeys on the bus are free of charge and each Free City Bus is accessible and can carry one wheelchair at a time.

More information, including a downloadable route map, is available at the Metro website (see Related Links)
