Languages and Translation
Welcome to the Wakefield Council website. The main languages in use in the district apart from English include Urdu, Kurdish, Farsi, Polish, French, Tigrinya, Russian, Czech and Portuguese.
We are unable to provide this website in every language. But if you need to know about a council service in another language we will try to help. Please follow the links below:-
Google provides a service which will translate our website into some European languages. The translation may not be perfect. Follow the links below to translate the Wakefield site into:-
French - Bienvenue
Portuguese - Seja bem-vindo
Another useful site is Multikulti - http://www.multikulti.org.uk/ - which offers culturally appropriate and accurately translated information in the following areas of welfare law - debt, employment, health, housing, immigration and welfare benefits. (Note: Multikulti is not operated by Wakefield Council)
