Site Specific Proposals Development Plan Document - Representations and New Sites 2011

Representations

The Council published the Sites Submission document in February. The period for comment closed on the 6 April. The representations received are available to view online in the Sites Submission document using the LDF Online Consultation (see 'Related Links').

In some cases the representation has been summarised. The original/complete representations are available to view on a CD at main libraries, listed below and at the Council offices Planning Service Newton Bar Wakefield. The CD is ordered by 'Comment ID' reference which is essential to find a particular representation. Comment IDs can be found in the Sites Submission document using the LDF Online Consultation.

New Sites

The Council has also received the following new site options following the publication of the document in February:

1. Land off Barnsley Road, Newmillerdam – Major Developed Site in the Green Belt
2. Land west of Langthwaite Grange, South Kirkby - Employment
3. Land at Broad Lane and Langthwaite Grange, South Kirkby – Safeguarded Land
4. Land at 673 Denby Dale Road, Calder Grove – remove from Green Belt
5. Land adjacent to Southgate, Southmoor Road, Hemsworth/Brierley Common – Travelling Showperson Site
6. Land at A1-M62 interchange, Knottingley – Special Policy Area

Note: the Council is not changing the Site Specific Proposals Development Plan Document as a result of these new site options. The Inspector will consider the merits of the new sites during the examination of the document.

The information about the new site options will be available for inspection and comment from 14 July to 24 August 2011. The details are set out below, including how to make comments on these new sites options only. At this stage the Council cannot accept comments about other proposals.

At the end of this period any comments received will be submitted to the Secretary of State to be considered during the independent examination of the Site Specific Proposals Development Plan Document and made available to view at the venues and times listed below.

How do I comment?

  1. Make comments online by using the LDF Online Consultation (see 'Related Links') where you will be able to refer to the New Sites - Representations Received document and see all the information about the sites submitted to the Council.
  2. View the New Sites - Representations Received document, download and complete the comments form (see 'Downloads'), or email your comments to ldf@wakefield.gov.uk.

All comments should reach us by 5.00 pm on 24 August 2011.

Commenting online is now the preferred method for making comments which we would urge you to use if possible.  If you have previously made comments on the LDF you may have been pre-registered with the online consultation system, in which case please contact us for your username and password.

If you haven’t made comments previously, registration is simple by visiting the above website.  This will automatically inform you of further developments in the LDF if you provide email contact details.
