The much anticipated completion of the Hepworth, a world class gallery and centre for the creative arts opened in May 2011.

As one of the largest and finest galleries outside of London, The Hepworth Wakefield will bring international contemporary art and historical exhibitions to Yorkshire. Visitors will also be able to experience art, architecture and design through a varied programme of talks, tours, film-screenings and workshops, or simply relax in the stylish restaurant and café, serving seasonal, locally-sourced food.

The Hepworth has also become part of the Tate Connects Programme. This is a major milestone in the development of this world-class gallery. The new partnership with Tate means Wakefield will now have access to loans from the national collection of British, modern and contemporary art, which is a crucial part of what The Hepworth Wakefield has to offer.
