The Hemsworth A1 Link Road will link the Hemsworth By-Pass to the A1 at Barnsdale Bar.

Construction of the link Road commenced in February 2008.

The road will also provide direct access to the South Kirkby Business Park, which is another key regeneration scheme for the South East of the District.
