Following the installation of a new underpass at Christmas 2005 to replace the original 1909 underpass, work is to be undertaken to enhance the entrance to the structure particularly on the southernside.

Work began in May 2008, and will include the installation of a concrete seating structure, lighting scheme, improved floorscape and will be undertaken by Tolent.
