Pontefract Central Area Masterplan
Consultants DTZ have produced a masterplan for the central area of Pontefract which was approved in Summer 2007.
The plan identifies key areas of activity and proposals for the town and is a springboard for the regeneration and renaissance itself.
The plan sets out a series of recommendations to expose the town’s many hidden assets as well as improved the run down areas.
The following key areas of change have been identified:
- Tanshelf
- Main Shopping Area
- Medieval Yards
- Civic Quarter and Castle Linkage
- Transport, Access and Movement
A further study of the Tanshelf area considers connections between the Town Centre and the Prince of Wales Colliery site.
See 'Downloads' for a copy of the executive summary of the plan.
