The Local Land Charges team undertake the statutory processing of Local Land Charges searches, which is an important part of the process of buying and selling land and/or property within the District.     

The team also maintains the Common Land and Village Green Registers and deals with Personal Search agents. The team is responsible for the registration of Local Land Charges and the maintenance of the Local Land Charges Register.

Searches are now done through a computerised search process which allows the team to achieve a turn around time for standard searches of less than 24 hours in over 99% of cases. The Government target is 100% in 10 working days.

Local Land Charges has also recently signed up to the National Land Information Service which will help meet the optimum electronic service delivery time of one hour.
