Welcome to Wakefield in Bloom 2008! Plans are now well underway for the 2008 campaign in which we hope to build on last year’s marvellous achievement of gaining a Silver Award in the Yorkshire in Bloom competition.

Wakefield in Bloom aims to make the district an even more attractive place in which to live, work and visit. Glorious hanging baskets, floral displays and sustainable planting will bring splashes of colour and beautify streets across the district.

In 2007 Wakefield in Bloom was enthusiastically embraced by Horbury, Ossett, Pontefract, Castleford and South Elmsall. In 2008 we hope to make In Bloom even bigger. There will be competitions held for businesses, schools, community groups and residents across the district to encourage and reward participation.
