Application fees

Increase in planning application fees from 17 January 2018

The Government has informed us that there will be an increase to the planning fees by 20%. The new fees will come into effect on 17 January 2018.  The new fee schedule also introduced a fee for works that need planning permission by reason of an Article 4 Direction or the withdrawal of permitted development rights by planning condition.

Any applications received prior to 17 January which are found to be invalid, or remain without receipt of requested information to make them valid, will be subject to the fee increase.

Information required to make the applications valid should be presented to the Council prior to 17 January.

Most applications require a fee to be paid. Planning Fees are set nationally by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG).

Methods of Payment

  • Online - using Debit or Credit Cards on our online payment portal or Planning Portal Worldpay to pay for your application online
  • Cheque and Postal Orders - made payable to WMDC by post or in person at Wakefield One Customer Access Point
  • Debit or Credit cards - in person at Wakefield One or via phone on 0345 8 506 506
  • Cash - in person only at the Wakefield One Customer Access Point
