In 2016 Queen's Mill, on Ayre Street, benefitted from a £50,000 grant from Wakefield Council to Castleford Heritage Trust to support its restoration of the Victorian water wheel.
Cllr Denise Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration at Wakefield Council, cut the ribbon to officially open the extended Queen's Mill Tea Room.
Cllr Jeffery said: "Queen's Mill is one of Castleford's most important historic buildings and it is great that we've been able to celebrate Yorkshire Day by seeing the growth of a successful business. It's a vibrant community with education and craft facilities, which together are creating a fantastic place for people to visit and enjoy."
Queen's Mill Tea room owner, Dana Russell, said: "We were the first business to open at Queen's Mill and it's been inspiring to see how the Mill has grown in popularity.
"I'm proud we've been able to expand and develop the business alongside others who are all contributing to make this a great place to visit."
