Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb has been highly commended at the White Rose
Awards 2017, in the Tourism Event of the Year Category.
The festival was shortlisted for the accolade at last night’s ceremony at the
Leeds First Direct Arena.

Leader of Wakefield Council, said: “I am delighted that the Food, Drink and
Rhubarb Festival has been recognised at the prestigious White Rose Awards,
alongside so many other top attractions in the region.
“The Wakefield festival has grown in strength and popularity every year with
its top line up of talented chefs, family entertainment and the region’s
tastiest food and drink.

The Wakefield Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb was runner-up in its category
to The Great Yorkshire Show.

The three-day foodie festival returns next year on Friday 23 to Sunday 25
February. Visitors will be treated to another weekend of top entertainment, the
region’s best food and drink and demonstrations from top talented chefs.
