Wakefield West by-election - Thursday 23 November
A by-election is taking place on Thursday 23 November, due to the resignation of Cllr Ryan Case who represented the Wakefield West No. 20 Ward of Wakefield Council.
Nominations open on 19 October and close at 4pm on Friday 27 October and candidate details will be published on the Council's website.
Poll cards will be issued to registered voters from Thursday 19 October.
Residents that are not registered to vote, including those who have moved house in the last few weeks, can register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. The deadline to register to vote in the by-election is midnight on Tuesday 7 November.
McRae, Wakefield Council’s Electoral Registration Officer, said: “If you live
in the Wakefield West Ward please check that you are registered and use your
vote on 23 November.”
Applications for a postal vote must be made by 5pm on Wednesday 8 November. To
vote by proxy, the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 15 November. Information about
voting by post or proxy can be found at www.yourvotematters.co.uk
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on 23 November and residents can
find details of the polling stations at www.wakefield.gov.uk/elections
